A Tidbit or Two About Me

Hi, I'm Grace. I'm a 22 year old college senior (ish) finishing college on my own time frame while working two jobs. I tend to be a bit of a nerd who has way too many interests to keep up with everything. Currently I love TV shows online or on DVD, video games, reading for fun, fashion magazines, and the reason for this blog...all things beauty.

As far as my beauty interests go I try and keep to less expensive drugstore brands, mixing in the occasional higher-end splurge. This however conflicts with my desire to go a little greener with my skin care, hair care, and and beauty products. I have pretty sensitive skin so cutting out sodium laurel sulfate, parabens, and other harsh chemicals helps out a lot. But as a student on a budget I am ever-searching for good drugstore organic products.

My Skin Characteristics

I have pretty fair skin inaccurately described as a mix of Covergirl's "Classic Ivory" and "Buff Beige" with a bit of Maybelline's "Porcelain Ivory" "Light #1" thrown in for good coverage. I tend to get a spot of eczema or two on my eyelids if not careful about my contacts or primer/eye creams. I also have quite a bit of redness/uneven texture along my jawline (no it's not rosecea) related to eczema. Needless to say my skin causes me a decent amount of grief. I can't seem to make it any better, but it also doesn't get worse, so that's a plus. I do have the occasional acne breakout, but they're usually pretty tame. Otherwise I have combination skin that I am trying to find a good moisture balance for.

All About My Hair

It's not anything too exciting. I've been keeping it shorter lately which helps so much in keeping it healthy. My hair is fine blonde/brown (natural but intensified by semi-regular professional colorings). Although every time I get it cut my stylist remarks on how much hair I have. Fine, but a lot of it, strange, I know. However, it is pretty dry from having to highlight the crap out of it after a bad dark red dye job (my current stylist is not responsible for that, she is a goddess with hair). So I spend a lot of time trying to keep it soft and not straw-like.
